Homesteading in Paradise - January 2017 Highlights

Since not much homesteading is going on in January - except taking care of the animals, of course - this month's short movie doesn't feature much gardening or putting food by.

What it does feature, though, is the natural beauty here in winter - and what a winter it has been! Right now, there's a foot of the white stuff in our backyard.

The movie also shows some gorgeous scenery from our vacation in Maui.

  1. I remember once being on the Big Island at a beach on the Maui side. My daughter was in the water and all of a sudden started screaming her head off. Mom mom! A turtle touched my leg! By the time I got there Mr Turtle was long gone but I've never forgotten it. Hard to imagine the contrast between Hawaii and Washington! Thanks for sharing.

    1. I bet she was terrified when the turtle touched her! I used to be absolutely horrified of little fishies in the water when I swam. That's why I never swam. Ahem.

  2. I think the pictures of Maui are beautiful. But I have to say your place with the mountains and snow are very beautiful. The scenery at your place is breathtaking to me.Loved the video!

  3. Corina, Love, love, love the video. Remembering bringing wood in with plastic sleds to make the going easier during our Marblemount days so many years ago! My daughter eventually moved herself and her family to Maui for 9 years and has only now moved back to the mainland. (Poor things!) I think I recognized some of the beaches. I bet my daughter misses it although she hasn't said. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
