Moving at an alarming rate...

So much has happened in the past months. Everyone is growing at an astounding, alarming, amazing rate. Our 16-year-old Kai moved out to attend the Running Start program at the community college.  It's a two and a half hour drive away from our house, so he's living with good friends in the college town.

Our 15-year-old Luke was crowned Homecoming Royalty and also visited Urgent Care twice this month because of his crazy mountain biking obsession.

Our little baby daughter turned ten years old in November... Say no more.

This here mother is hanging on by her teeth, watching her kids grow up.

Life seems to be speeding up.  Is it because I, myself, am getting older?

I don't know the answer, but all I can tell you is that I want to spend as much quality time with my kids and squeeze out the most amount of connection and fun before they all leave the nest. Very soon.

One of the ways we do this is spending time on adventures, mostly hiking, biking and being active in beautiful places (and then consuming copious amounts of food to replace the lost calories).

This was our last trip over to the Methow Valley before the mountain pass closes:

This November has been unseasonably dry and sunny.  I'm not complaining!

I've been working a lot in my role as Global Ambassador and Senior Coach for Feminine Power, the coaching organization that trains women in coaching, facilitation and leadership.  I love the work, because I connect with women from all over the world, and I feel like I'm impacting so many lives.

This takes my own self care to the next level: it's non-negotiable, because I give out so much energy, I have to replenish it.

One of the ways I do this is being outside every day.

Exercise is super important for me, and if I don't get it, I turn grumpy.

Just ask Steve.

My exercise involves taking the dogs for a walk every single day, biking as much as I can, and stacking firewood.  My puppy Hazel likes to be involved, although most of the time she just gets in the way...

Another important self-care routine is knitting.  My family is well stocked with socks.

What is happening in your world?
